About Us
We develop and market high performance cooling systems for servers, storage systems and related applications. We also design, sell and license adapters to enable standard volume servers to be used with racks made to our specifications.

Management

Phillip Hughes, is CEO and a founder of Clustered Systems. He conceived the revolutionary liquid cooling architecture for commodity servers. This combines all the advantages of liquid cooling with low adoption cost and simple operation. He drove demand with end customers (e-business, financial, manufacturing), developed marketing channels and set up subcontract manufacturing infrastructure. It is now distributed worldwide by Liebert, Inc., a major cooling systems OEM. He and his team are now working on the next generation system with 100kW per rack cooling capability.

Previously Mr. Hughes was a founder and VP of BrightLink Networks, Inc., the developers of the BOSS 1000 2.5Tb/s SONET/SDH switch. There he and was the inspiration and co-developer of the basic switching technology, receiving a patent for his contribution. He also hired the founding team.

Robert Lipp is COO and a founder of Clustered Systems He has been a founder / founding team member of multiple startups: large scale WAN switching systems, CAE test development, and several semiconductor companies – from Samsung Semiconductor in Korea to BrightLink Networks. Bob was also CEO and founder of the first world class ASIC company dedicated to CMOS gate arrays, California Devices, Inc.

He is a successful inventor with 20 patents granted/pending in diverse high technology areas. Prior to his more recent work in cooling systems: he co-developed BrightLink Networks switching technology, applying it to create the world's largest, high performance grooming SONET cross-connect switching system, the BOSS 1000; invented the CMOS gate array in 1974; and was co-inventor / developer of the novel GateField high density Flash NVM FPGAs now the Actel ProASIC line.
